🐯💛 We have so much to celebrate here at Valdese Elementary! 💛🐯

Our Tiger teachers and staff worked incredibly hard throughout the 2025–2026 school year, and that hard work showed in our data!

✨ Valdese Met Growth!
✨ We are now just 2 points away from being a B school!

We celebrated these accomplishments the best way we know how — by shaking our pompoms, enjoying some cookie cake, and digging into our data together. 🎉

We are so proud of the dedication, teamwork, and commitment our staff shows to our students every single day. These results are worth celebrating, and we are excited to keep building on this momentum in the year ahead!

🐯 Tiger Families!

This is your principal, Courtney Hull, with a few important reminders.

Our school year is off to a wonderful start! This week, we officially welcomed our Pre-K and Kindergarten Tigers, and it has been so exciting to see our building full of happy students learning, growing, and getting comfortable with their new routines.

As I have visited classrooms throughout the week, I have seen so many great things happening—stories being read, students participating in rotations and learning stations, writing activities, and lots of opportunities for students to get to know their teachers and classmates. Our Tigers are already hard at work!

We have also had great attendance this week! Thank you for making it a priority to have your child at school, on time, and ready to learn each day. Keep it up! Every day matters, and strong attendance gives our students the best opportunity to be successful.

We also want to thank everyone for your continued patience with transportation. Our students, families, bus drivers, and staff are still adjusting to bus and car rider routines. Each day is getting a little smoother, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we continue working to make arrival and dismissal as safe and efficient as possible.

Please remember that we are here to support you and your child throughout the school year. If you have questions, concerns, or need assistance with anything, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Proud to be a Tiger,
Courtney Hull, Principal

Good evening, Valdese families! 🐯💛🖤

We had a wonderful first day of school at Valdese Elementary! As I made rounds throughout the building today, I saw lots of learning taking place as students practiced procedures and expectations, participated in getting-to-know-you activities, and enjoyed fun and engaging lessons. It was so exciting to have our Tigers back in the building!

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as both buses and the car rider line moved a little slower than normal today. The first few days always take a little extra time, and we are hopeful that each day will become smoother and more efficient.

A few reminders for afternoon car riders:

* Please make sure you have a car rider tag displayed. If you need one, please send a Dojo message to me or Mrs. Aldridge, our school counselor, and we will have one ready for you tomorrow.
* When each round of cars moves forward, please pull up as close as possible to the car in front of you. Today, we noticed that we were having to load some students farther up the hill. Pulling forward helps us keep all students safely on the sidewalk.
* If you are waiting for your student to arrive at your number and the line begins moving, please pull forward and off to the right in the grass rather than pulling to the left near the playground.

For our bus families, if you are not currently connected to the Dojo group for your child’s bus, please send Mrs. Savannah Cole a message and let her know that you need to be added.

Thank you again for your patience, flexibility, and support as we establish our routines. We appreciate you working with us to make arrival and dismissal as safe and efficient as possible!

Have a great evening, Tigers! 💛🐾

Red arrows guide vehicles from Church Street through the campus, around the Tiger Gym/Teacher Cottage overflow area, past staff parking, and into a doubled lane near the school. A marked stop-and-merge point directs cars toward the front office and covered loading area. The graphic also lists procedures reminding families to remain in vehicles, allow staff to assist students, use the car rider line instead of walk-up pickup, and remain patient during arrival and dismissal. Morning drop-off begins at 7:30 a.m., and afternoon dismissal begins at 2:35 p.m.

A huge thank you to East Valdese Baptist Church for sponsoring VES this school year and for providing lunch for our staff during our Opening Faculty Meeting. Your generosity, encouragement, and support mean so much to us, and we are grateful to have you walking alongside our school this year.

We also want to give a very special thank you to our amazing VES PTO for treating our staff to a fun Dirty Soda Bar and providing thoughtful back-to-school gifts. It was such a wonderful way to make our staff feel appreciated and celebrated as we prepare for a new school year!
