Burke County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, December 11th, 2017, for students and staff.

Happenings for the Week of Monday, December 11th- Friday, December 15th, 2017

Thank you to all that donated to the Toys for Tots toy drive!  We appreciate your willingness to give to others!

Monday, December 11th- Friday, December 15th, 2017- Santa Store!!  

  • Students may bring money to purchase items for family and friends in the Santa Store.  Students will go to the Santa Store during their breakout classes.  There will be volunteers in the Santa Store to help with the younger students to purchase their items.
Tuesday, December 12th- 
  • Interim reports will be sent home.
  • Robotics Club will meet from 2:45-4:30pm.
Wednesday, December 13th-
  • PTO will meet in the media center at 3:30.
Thursday, December 14th-
  • Student Council will meet in Mrs. Hartman' room from 2:35-3:10pm.
  • GEMS Club will meet in the media center from 2:35-4:00pm.

Next Week at a Glance- Monday, December 18th-Wednesday, December 20th, 2017
  • Wednesday, December 20th- Students will be dismissed at 11:30.
Students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018.

OPT-IN to SchoolMessenger

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures for 2017-2018

***Important Information about Drop-off times for Students:
Student drop-off will begin at 7:30am. If your student is dropped off before 7:30am, you will be charged a fee by our Valdese Before and After School Daycare.

***Information about Morning drop-offs Areas for Students:
Car Riders- Enter drop-off line on Church Street
Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:30am in the car rider line that goes by our picnic shelter.  When you pull in to our school on the Church Street side, the car rider line will need to loop to the right (in the parking lot for the Tiger Gym).  This keeps our traffic from backing up into the road.
Car Riders- Parents Need to Walk in- Enter Parking lot entrance from Church Street
If you park in the parking lot, please use the upper portion of the lot.  Please leave the lower parking spaces for our teachers and staff.  If you park in this lot, you CANNOT let your child walk into the school alone.  You MUST walk your student(s) into the school.  

Please do not use the traffic circle around the playground.  There should be no traffic in the circle during drop off unless you need to use the handicap parking spaces by the gym.  

Under NO circumstances can you drop your child off in our parking lot on Praley Street.  Please help us keep your student safe during morning drop-off times.

Did you know that you can take out supplemental insurance on your students through a partnership between Burke County Public Schools and QBE, Inc.? 
Accident plans and options include 24-hour coverage, at-school coverage, extended dental coverage, and football coverage.
